Day 2, Kiev

The factory of the New Year-Tree toys in Klavdievo was the one of two in the USSR for a long period of time. The technology has not changed from the middle of the 20th century. It is still the pure small island of Soviets if you wish to feel the USSR lifestyle.

The museum of Pyrohovo Village accumulate a rich collection of over 200 structures, some of which were brought there from various parts of the country. The museum also boasts an impressive 40,000 collection of ethnographic exhibits, among which there are folk costumes, carpets, ceramics, articles of metal, wood, musical instruments, paintings and household articles.

Livadia Palace was a summer retreat of the last Russian tsar, Nicholas II. The Yalta Conference was held there in 1945, when the palace housed the apartments of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and other members of the American delegation.

Sevastopol is an important commercial and naval port as well as an increasingly popular tourist destination. Since its inclusion into the Russian Empire in 1783, the city has faced two legendary sieges (French and British forces during the Crimean War and Nazi German forces during World War II).
Naval museum complex Balaklava is an underground submarine base in Crimea (originally known as Object 825 GTS). Models of warships, various elements of submarines’ armory, naval armaments and ammunition, memorabilia and unique documents are exhibited there.
